Our union’s climate justice working group has been working with labor communities in King County and across the state to build conversation around climate change and a just transition to a clean energy economy. A key partner in this work is the Washington State BlueGreen Alliance, who is coordinating an exciting summit next month, September 14th – 15th.

Governor Inslee, Representative Beth Doglio, and Senator Merkley of Oregon are among the featured speakers. Also one of our members, Grant Williamson from the Clean Energy Institute, will be among the panelists.

It is going to be a fantastic event, with interactive and informative discussions around climate policy, energy and water infrastructure, our changing transportation systems, NAFTA renegotiation and more!

UAW 4121 will sponsor a limited number of members who want to attend! Sponsorship includes reimbursement for registration and hotel.

More information is below, and please share with your networks!

Here’s the short request for sponsorship.

Friend,

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the Clean and Fair Economy Summit—taking place in Olympia Washington, September 14-15 at the Hotel RL Olympia!

This unique event will bring together leaders from a diverse coalition of labor unions, environmental groups, community organizations, businesses, and local and state governments to seek climate change solutions that grow the clean economy and build equity and shared prosperity across the West Coast and across the country.

Hurry to reserve your spot today for the Clean and Fair Economy Summit!

This summit will explore the theme Go West! Climate Solutions, Economic Justice, and the Unstoppable Blue-Green Alliance, and will emphasize the successes, opportunities, and lessons learned from the States of Washington, Oregon, and California, in driving a fair and thriving clean economy.

Group plenary sessions featuring Governor Inslee and other clean economy leaders, as well as interactive breakout sessions focused on key issues such as local and state climate policy, infrastructure and clean jobs, fair trade, and more, are on the agenda. We will also honor several individuals and organizations with the BlueGreen Champion Award at an awards ceremony and reception.
