ASEs with a .50% FTE appointment as Teaching Assistants, Staff Assistants, and Research Assistants, as well as most Fellows and Trainees doing the same work as Research Assistants receive the Graduate Appointee Insurance Plan (GAIP) with the premium paid by UW and receive dependent coverage with 65% of the premium paid by UW.
