UAW 4121 - UW Works Because We Do

WA State Primary Election TODAY

If you are a registered WA voter and have not yet returned your mail-in ballot please make a plan to vote today. Voting for local candidates who share our values and will fight for workers is an essential way for our union to build power. Please vote, and make sure your friends and colleagues vote as well.

For many of the local races the political working group has interviewed and assessed potential candidates, and made recommendations for endorsements. The full list of endorsements and the reasoning behind them can be found here.

In particular, if you live in Seattle City Council District 4, we are supporting Emily Myers (a PhD Candidate in Pharmacology and Local 4121 Executive Board member). You can read more about her campaign, as well as a recent op-ed by the founding members of 500 Women Scientists about the escalating anti-science rhetoric in the city council race here. Emily was endorsed by our Local after resoundingly winning a membership-wide straw poll earlier this year.
