What: Critical Bargaining Session
When: Wednesday, April 4th at 12:00 noon
Where: Roosevelt Commons West
Who: All members — your participation needed!

This coming Thursday marks the deadline we agreed with the University to reach tentative agreement on all “non-economic” proposals — including equity and union power.

Thousands of members have already spoken this year and made it clear that issues of equity and anti-discrimination are a priority for bargaining and beyond. Thanks to that clear and unified voice, UW Administration has recently made some incremental progress and indicated movement in a productive direction.

However, we have a significant distance to go before we can reach agreement on language that will substantially address problems so many ASEs have raised. It’s time to demonstrate that not only are we ready to speak out about our commitment to improved prevention and response of equity issues, increased union power, and more — we’re also ready to show up.

So, please come pack the room at 12:00 noon this Wednesday April 4th for bargaining. A panel of political, community, and ASE leaders will speak to the importance of these issues, and you can RSVP here. If you haven’t already, please also take a moment to sign on to the equity petition.

For more information about bargaining — including summaries of past sessions and other ways you can get involved — please check out the 4121 website.
