Today we presented contract language proposals around equity issues to the UW Administration, focusing on the following collective bargaining agreement articles: non-discrimination and harassment, childcare, leaves of absence, union rights, and hourly pay scale transparency. ASEs shared their stories illuminating the need for these changes. UW Admin presented counter-proposals for union rights language that failed to acknowledge the weight of our work or the interconnected nature of building relationships through union orientations and shifting the culture of harassment and discrimination.
