Come to the First Membership Meeting of the Year!

Our first monthly membership meeting of the year is Thursday, October 12 from 5:30-7:30pm in Bagley 131. The proposed agenda for the meeting is as follows:

• Approve Agenda
• Approve Minutes
• Welcome & Union Overview
• Bargaining
• Housing Affordability Campaign
• International Solidarity
• Update on Postdoc Organizing Drive
• De-Escalate Washington
• Election of UAW Local 4121 Elections Committee
• Adjourn

Any member who would like to propose additional agenda items or submit materials for the meeting is welcome to email uaw4121@uaw4121.org by 5pm on Wednesday, October 11. All members in good standing are encouraged to attend, and new members may sign up to join the union at the meeting. As always children are welcome: please email uaw4121@uaw4121.org by 12:00 noon on Wednesday (10/11) if you need childcare and we will ensure it is provided.

Election Committee Election

At the membership meeting, we’ll elect a new election committee consisting of up to seven (7) members and one (1) alternate, which is responsible for overseeing all Local votes for the coming year. All members are automatically nominated for the Election Committee, and may accept nomination any time before 6pm on 10/12/17, when nominations will be closed.  Nominations may be accepted in person at the meeting or in advance of the meeting via email to uaw4121@uaw4121.org. We will vote immediately after close of nominations, and the highest runner up will be the alternate.
