Steward Vacancies

All UAW Local 4121 members in good standing continuously for ninety (90) days prior to accepting nomination are automatically nominated for the following vacant steward positions whose terms expire in December 2016:

• Region 1: 9 positions
• Region 2: 12 positions
• Region 3: 9 positions
• Region 4: 10 positions
• Region 5: 8 positions

Bargaining Team Vacancies

All UAW Local 4121 members in good standing continuously for ninety (90) days prior to accepting nomination are automatically nominated for the following at-large Bargaining Team positions whose terms expire in May 2016:

• Region 1: 1 position
• Region 2: 1 position
• Region 4: 1 position

Executive Board Vacancies

All UAW Local 4121 members in good standing for at least one (1) year prior to accepting nomination are automatically nominated to complete the terms for the following Executive Board offices whose three-year terms expire in May 2016:

• Vice President
• Trustee: 1 position
• Sergeant-at-Arms

Accepting Nomination

For Steward and Bargaining Team positions, members may only accept nomination in one jurisdictional region. Members may only accept nomination in a jurisdictional region in which they are enrolled or employed. To accept nomination for one of the specified positions, you must send your acceptance in writing to the Election Committee at:

Acceptances must be received by mail or email no later than October 19 at 5:00 pm. The written statement of acceptance should state how the nominee wishes their name to appear on the ballot and the region in which they are accepting the nomination.

Candidate Statements

Members accepting nomination may also submit a candidate statement (up to 500 words) that must be received by the nomination deadline of October 19 at 5:00 pmto the above address. Candidates may also submit a photo, which must have a square aspect ratio and be at least 200×200 pixels in resolution. In the case of contested positions, statements will be posted on the Local Union website no later than October 20.

Election Dates

The election will take place on November 2 – 4. A link for online voting will be sent to members via email. Times and locations for in-person voting will be announced shortly. Members may only vote for Steward candidates in a jurisdictional region in which they are enrolled or employed.

A run-off election, if necessary, will be held on November 6. Voting will take place online, and in person (location TBA).
