At the beginning of the quarter we’d tentatively scheduled the regular February membership meeting for next Friday (2/15). However some members have pointed out that this conflicts with student lobby day in Olympia so we are postponing the meeting until the following Friday (February 22nd) at 12:00 noon in LOW 101.
Please let us know if you can participate in student lobby day. Recently we’ve taken action to enforce our collective bargaining agreement and keep the costs of unwaived fees down, but we still have work to do in keeping other fees from increasing (the unwaived building fee has increased nearly 30% in the past four years due to tuition increases). Speaking directly with your legislators makes a huge difference in holding them accountable over the importance of keeping higher education affordable and accessible for all, and finding a dedicated source of revenue to fund it.
