During the 2012 session in Olympia we worked with legislative allies to help preserve – after nearly losing  – funding for higher education, and helped support the passage of bills to create jobs and establish the freedom to marry in Washington.  In Congress, support for scientific research and financial aid – not to mention immigration reform, progressive tax reform, and worker protections – are being threatened by forces working on behalf of narrow but wealthy special interests.  This year’s November 6th election therefore has historic significance not only to our membership but to the broader community: we need to continue to elect a government that does more to work by and for the 99%.  UAW Local 4121 members are taking action to support candidates and ballot measures that reflect these values and our interests as public employees working in higher education.  Click here to find out how you can volunteer to help!
