It’s Pride Month and there are a number of great events coming up this weekend! As always, members of our union will be participating — make it out to show your pride, and to celebrate and support our LGBTQ+ community.

At our June membership meeting, members unanimously passed a resolution against I-1552, the anti-trans bathroom initiative proposed for the 2017 statewide ballots. Washington Won’t Discriminate, the organization leading the fight against I-1552, has a goal of engaging 15,000 people during Pride to build momentum against this discriminatory, harmful initiative, and to build widespread support for the trans community. To get connected with Washington Won’t Discriminate and volunteer against I-1552, please fill out this RSVP form!

On Friday 6/23, join other 4121 members for Trans Pride! We’ll meet on Capitol Hill near Cal Anderson Park, at the corner of Nagle Place and Howell Street at 5pm for a march that begins at 6pm. By 6:30, the march will conclude at Cal Anderson for a celebration and performances. To get  day of updates on our location follow us on Twitter: @UAW4121. Then on Sunday 6/25, our Local will be marching in the Seattle Pride Parade with Pride at Work, contingent #59. We’ll meet at 11amdowntown, on 4th Avenue between Madison St and Spring St. The parade will culminate at Seattle Center for continued celebration.  To get  day of updates on our location follow us on Twitter: @UAW4121.
