Pride Weekend is here! As in past years, our local is participating in both Seattle Trans* Pride and the Seattle Pride Parade this year. There are multiple opportunities for you to participate and show your support, so please join us for one or more! Here’s the final information for meeting locations– we hope to see you there!
March with us at Trans* Pride Seattle! TONIGHT at 5pm, we’ll assemble at the courtyard north of Seattle Central College for a march starting at 6pm. By 6:30pm, we’ll arrive at Cal Anderson Park for performances and celebration until 10.
Given the targeted anti-trans* hate crime that occurred two nights ago, the Gender Justice League is setting up a Walking Buddy Rally Point at the end of tonight’s event if you want to arrive alone but want to walk home in the dark with a buddy. Here’s their safety plan for the event.
Table with us at Trans* Pride! Members of our UAW Local 4121 Trans* Equity Working Group will also be hosting a table at the celebration at Cal Anderson on June 24th. Please come by to help us distribute fliers and connect with community members!
March with us at the Seattle Pride Parade! On Sunday, June 26th, don’t just watch the Pride Parade—march with us! We will be marching with UW & UW Medicine, which is contingent 58. We’ll assemble at 11am on 4th Ave. between Marion and Madison Streets. The parade is about 2 miles long, and ends at PrideFest at Seattle Center!
