UAW 4121

Dear UAW member,

Along with UAW academic workers across the United States, UAW 4121 is co-hosting an info session about the most recent Department of Homeland Security proposed rule regarding F and J visas this Wednesday (Sept 30) 9-10AM PDT. Please RSVP to receive the Zoom link. Panelists will include an immigration attorney and international student/scholar union reps who will answer your questions.

Upcoming Action: Oppose New Rule! Through October 26th, DHS will be accepting public comments about this proposed rule.  We are working with other academic worker unions and immigrant rights organizations across the country to develop a template for commenting. Please keep an eye out for an action alert later this week to submit your comment.  If you’d like to help organize this, please contact us at intl-workgroup@uaw4121.org.

Starting next week, our group will change our weekly meeting time to accommodate multiple international time zones, particularly in Asia. By this weekend, our group will decide on our meeting time moving forward, which will most likely be around 3-5PM PDT on a weekday. If you want to get involved, please email intl-workgroup@uaw4121.org.

In Solidarity,
UAW 4121 Joint Council and International Solidarity Working Group
