Breaking news: The Seattle City Council today passed a resolution proclaiming May 1, 2017 to be a day of action for worker and immigrant rights. This follows a few days after the UW Graduate and Professional Student Senate passed a resolution encouraging UW administration to join the community in taking action on that day.

Momentum is building! Take a second to sign our open letter, declaring your support for May 1st and asking President Cauce to join us in supporting a nationwide day of action!

The Trump administration has created a hostile living environment for immigrants and people of color, and creates an extremely precarious situation for the entire University of Washington community. Our bargaining goals have spelled out some ways that the University can create a safer and more inclusive campus. Provost Baldasty’s announcement last week that one of these proposals would be met and the International Student Fee would be indefinitely suspended show they’re listening and moving in a positive direction.

It’s critical that we continue to speak out and show up. Please take a second to sign on now!
