Our next membership meeting will take place Monday, April 25th at 5:30 p.m. in the Husky Union Building (HUB) Lyceum. Doors will open for members to check in at 5:00 p.m. The capacity of this room is 470. We are working to secure overflow space with video access in case the room capacity is exceeded. We will also provide childcare (or reimbursements) for members at this meeting.
At the April 14th meeting, members voted to adjourn the meeting prior to concluding the approved agenda until a room large enough to accommodate attendees could be found, within two weeks. The agenda items that were postponed included voting on the proposed amendments to the Local Union bylaws.
Availability of rooms this size – on and near campus – is quite limited. Other space may have been available later in the week but either in the mid-afternoon or after 7:30 p.m. Many thanks to the Graduate and Professional Student Senate for helping to secure space on this tight timeline!
We also have been getting great feedback and suggestions from members about how to conduct the next meeting with the prospect of large attendance. Please keep sending these in to uaw4121@uaw4121.org, and we will send additional information about space, process and any logistics before the end of this week.
