Next Wednesday April 5, UAW 4121 is hosting an evening with authors and activists Jane McAlevey and Jonathan Rosenblum, City Council Member Kshama Sawant and leaders from UAW 4121. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical information and skills from these experienced and highly skilled activists. Can you take a minute to RSVP now?
In her new book No Shortcuts: Organizing for Power in the New Gilded Age, McAlevey makes a compelling case for deep, majority organizing, the strategy that made possible the great social movements of previous eras. And Rosenblum’s Beyond $15 is an insider perspective on the successful fight for $15 campaign. McAlevey and Rosenblum’s stories will lead into an important conversation with Council Members Sawant and UAW 4121 leaders on strategies for organizing the progressive change we do desperately need in this country.
Where: UW Tower Auditorium, 4333 Brooklyn Ave. NE
When: Wednesday, April 5 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM
This is a free event and all members of the community are encouraged to attend. Please RSVP to join us next Wednesday!
