The nomination period for the vacant leadership positions has now closed. All nominations except for Academic Student Employee (ASE) Head Steward and ASE Physics Steward were uncontested, and those individuals have been elected by acclamation. Congratulations!
The ASE Head Steward position has five (5) nominees, and the ASE Physics Steward position has three (3) nominees, and the election for them will be conducted online from June 7th to June 9th. For more on this, see below.

ASE Head Steward Election
Five ASEs have accepted nominations for the three vacant ASE Head Steward positions: Tejas Devanur, Brianne King, Avi Matarasso, Amal Nanavati, and Dennis Young. As a reminder, Head Stewards represent the entire ASE unit and meet quarterly (at minimum) as members of the Joint Council, alongside Postdoc Head Stewards and the Executive Committee. Head Stewards also make up the bargaining team which bargains with the UW over our contract. There are currently 14 total Head Steward positions that represent the ASEs (along with 5 others for the Postdocs).

Online voting by secret ballot will take place from June 7th to the 9th. Instructions for online voting will be emailed to all members before the voting and will be posted on www.uaw4121.org/elections. Candidates will be expected to follow the rules for campaigning outlined here.
A candidate must receive a majority of votes to win. If no candidate receives a majority of the votes for a position, a runoff election will be held on June 14th to the 16th. Voting will take place online.
