ASE Bargaining

Community Rally

We are getting closer and closer to the expiration of the ASE contract on April 30th! While we have been able to make some small progress on our proposals to improve equity at UW, and to improve recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups, there are still gaps between our demands and what UW administration has agreed to.

All the progress we’ve made so far has been a direct result of members’ active engagement in the bargaining process, and to win a strong contract in the next two weeks, it’s going to be critical to continue building our collective power. Every member can help by RSVPing to attend a virtual mass rally and bargaining session (tentatively scheduled for April 26th at noon) to demand a fair contract and kick off our final week of bargaining. Please RSVP today at http://tinyurl.com/4121rally!

Bargaining Info Sessions

Do you have questions about the bargaining process, where our proposals stand, or how you can help win a strong contract? Join our bargaining info and strategy sessions happening next week! To accommodate a variety of schedules, there are two options, but both sessions will cover the same information.

  • When: Thursday 4/22 from 12-1pm and Thurs 4/22 from 5-6pm
  • How to join: RSVP here.

UW Accreditation Evaluation Open Forum

On April 14-16, 2021, the UW will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit by its accrediting body, the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). An assessment of the UW’s initiatives and efforts related to student success, its institutional effectiveness and mission, as well as governance, resources and capacity are included in the evaluation. As part of that process, the NWCCU will hold open forums for UW community members. The final session is this morning:

NWCCU Staff forum – 9-9:50 a.m., Thursday, April 15. For more information and to register, visit https://www.washington.edu/provost/.
