WA State Paid Family Medical Leave Starts January 1
Our state’s new Paid Family Medical Leave Program will begin on January 1, 2020. If you are considering taking leave for any of the qualifying reasons, please be sure to notify your supervisor and department chair 30 days prior to the beginning of your leave date. In addition, it will be helpful to email UW Labor Relations at laborrel@uw.edu to inform them of your intention to take leave. You can read the full details of the program here. The Washington State Employment Security Department is administering the program and is answering questions about its implementation. Staff Position: Outreach and Membership Engagement
UAW Local 4121 is hiring for a full-time staff position to assist with membership outreach and engagement to Academic Student Employees and Postdocs at UW. This position will support the ongoing work of the Local to build our collective power and advocate for fair working conditions, a stronger and more accessible higher education system, and social justice in our community and beyond.
