Yesterday, Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant submitted a draft resolution to City Council to support our contract demands and pressure the UW administration to reach a fair contract with us. On Monday, City Council will consider passing this resolution, and your help is needed to make sure it passes.

5 Minutes This Weekend:
Email the Councilmembers and let them know you support this resolution. Prioritize contacting the Councilmember who represents your district as well as the Council President Bruce Harrell and the two at-large Councilmembers, Teresa Mosqueda and Lorena González. Please also cc kshama.sawant@seattle.gov so that she can track the number of emails that come in. Email draft below.

Monday morning: Call the Councilmembers, even if you have already emailed them. The more they hear from us the more impact we will have. A possible template message is: “Hello, my name is ____ and I’m a voter in your district. I’m calling to ask you to support the resolution calling on UW leadership to reach a fair agreement with the members of UAW 4121.”

Monday afternoon: Show up to City Hall at 1:30pm to join our UAW delegation in offering public comment to the Council and to watch them vote on our resolution. Meet at the UW link station at 12:45pm to head over together.
