As anticipated, the results of yesterday’s election remain unclear as many more ballots still need to be counted. Nevertheless, early this morning, Trump falsely claimed that he had won, in an open attempt to steal the election. Alongside our broader labor movement and community, we know we will need to use every tool at our disposal to ensure a peaceful transfer of power. History clearly shows that to protect our democracy, we have to build power through organizing and taking mass collective action.
RALLIES TODAY: While the election results likely won’t be clear this week, UAW 4121 members are joining with our local community to build pressure now for a fair election. We are co-sponsoring rallies at 5pm at Occidental Square, then at 6pm at Westlake Park. These are key opportunities for taking action that will help ground longer-term coordination on responses and strategy. RSVP HERE to get connected with other UAW 4121 members at both rallies.
PROTEST SAFETY TRAINING: Join fellow union members across Washington state for a training on safety, de-escalation and your legal rights for union members looking to take action in the streets, from home or in the workplace. RSVP and register here.
