In the last week there have been 3 executive orders targeting immigrants, refugees and international students/scholars. The executive order banning immigrants and refugees from 7 majority muslim countries is disrupting and causing hardship in the lives of our members. We are hearing from folks who cannot travel home to visit their families, who cannot go on field research abroad, and who are stranded abroad and do not know when they can return. Our mobilization against the executive orders have resulted in some positive developments so far, but we need your help to continue to leverage our resources to the fullest.
Join us for an emergency planning meeting tomorrow February 1st at 1 pm in Condon, Room 135 (1100 NE Campus Pkwy) to strategize and organize our response. We will also be joined by an immigration attorney for one-on-one consultation for affected individuals.
