Dear UAW Member,
Earlier this month, we sent out an email outlining a number of issues the UW’s new payroll system Workday has caused — issues with health insurance enrollment, wages being delayed, tuition waivers not being processed, and more. Since then, many of you have reported issues you are having, and our Contract Enforcement Working Group is working diligently to make sure every affected person’s issue is communicated to central admin so that issues are resolved and members are compensated for any losses they have taken because of Workday. If you are still experiencing any ongoing Workday related issues you may do the following:
- If you have still have not been paid as of 10/25 you may demand to be cut an emergency check from the payroll coordinator in your department.
- Check that your GAIP insurance enrollment has been processed on or by 10/26.
- Disregard automatic emails about late-fees assessed to your account if your tuition has still not been paid.
- If you are being impacted by one of these issues and have not yet been in contact with the Contract Enforcement Working Group, please take a minute today to fill out this short form.
A formal audit of GAIP eligibility enrollment information has been conducted, and eligibility information for members who were improperly classified was sent over to Lifewise on 10/24. This should result in benefits information being processed for the remainder of members this week. If your insurance enrollment still has not been properly processed, or if you are still missing pay or your tuition waiver as of 10/26, please contact the Contract Enforcement Working Groupimmediately.
The Workday related issues are widespread and ongoing, so we are actively working with a coalition of UW unions to address the issues across campus. We will continue to work diligently to make sure that these issues are remedied, and that members are made whole for any losses.
