GAIP-eligible student-employees: Please take this short survey now
The UAW 4121 Health Care Work Group is seeking feedback about the recent claims reprocessing and UAW Members’ experiences with the Graduate Appointee Insurance Plan (GAIP) so far this year. Please click here to take this short survey.
In 2014/15 we bargained multiple fixes to the GAIP after discovering that negotiated benefits had been unilaterally changed. As a result, over the summer of 2015 the University directed its broker and carrier to reprocess several years worth of claims to ensure they were paid at proper levels, which means that many UAW 4121 members should receive reimbursements. Because the information about individuals claims is confidential, the primary way we have for knowing if members received the reimbursements they were owed is to ask members. You can find more information on the reprocessing here.
In addition, we are interested in the experiences members are having with the GAIP this year. Your responses to the questions below will enable us to develop the information resources and tools we need to hold the insurance carrier accountable and ensure they are complying with the negotiated contract.
All questions are optional. All responses are anonymous. If you would like help or to talk to a member of the health care work group about your responses, please add your contact information at the end of the survey.
If you have any questions about this survey or any GAIP concerns you want to talk about, please email us at healthcare@uaw4121.org.
Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey.
Thank you!
