The 2026 Equity Survey is open! Academic workers in UAW 4121 have won some of the strongest measures in the country for preventing harassment and discrimination in our contracts. One of these measures is the equity survey, a tool created by members to hold the University accountable to fighting discrimination and harassment in our workplace. Postdocs and ASEs can take the Equity Survey.

The survey was developed jointly by UW and UAW to assess what working conditions and climate are like for members of underrepresented groups, assess the UW’s progress on inclusion efforts, learn what interventions are most effective and determine what areas still need attention. The results will be analyzed by a joint committee of UW and Union representatives who will also recommend further steps for promoting equity, inclusion, transparency, and accountability. Please note that the survey contains questions concerning harassment and discrimination.

Past survey results have revealed widespread experiences of harassment and other serious issues across our campuses. We deserve a University where everyone feels safe, respected, and supported, and can do their work without worrying about being harassed, bullied, or retaliated against.

COMPLETE THE EQUITY SURVEY NOW!

The survey will remain open from now until to March 20th. All responses are kept anonymous.

Survey results are directly used to support bargaining efforts and campaigns for stronger protections in issues that affect ASEs and Postdocs. This includes fighting back against harassment and discrimination, pushing for better disability accommodations, supporting student workers who are parents, tackling rent burden, and more.

Make sure to help spread the word to your coworkers and department!
