Dear Colleague,
Last Friday, Postdocs delivered letters to Deans in five major schools and colleges (Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Environment, Medicine, and Pharmacy), signed by the majority of Postdocs from that school or college, inviting them to attend the Seattle City Council Work Session on May 8th. We also provided each Dean with a one-page handout summarizing notable findings from our recent equity survey and what is at stake in these contract negotiations.
We had productive conversations in each Dean’s office and reiterated why it is so important that bargaining finishes soon. The Deans and their representatives responded positively and agreed that it is in everyone’s interest to finalize our contract quickly.
Thanks to everyone who signed on to the letters!

We are bargaining today (April 29th) and Wednesday (May 1st). If you have questions about the proposals or any other component of the process, contact us.
In solidarity,
