The UAW Local 4121 Steward and Vacancy Elections will take place on November 29 – December 1, 2016. The nomination period is now open and will close on November 11 at 5 pm.

Online Voting

In-person Voting

In-person voting will be available throughout the election period. The locations of in-person voting will be decided upon shortly and emailed to the membership.

In the event of an exact tie between two candidates, a runoff election will be held on December 5. Voting will take place online, and in person at a location to be determined.

Nominations

All UAW Local 4121 members in good standing continuously for one (1) year prior to accepting nomination are automatically nominated for the following vacant Executive Board Position, whose term began in June 2016 and expires in May 2019:

Candidates for Steward may only accept nomination in one jurisdictional region, and may only accept nomination in a jurisdictional region in which they are enrolled or employed.

Members may only vote for Steward in a jurisdictional region in which they are enrolled or employed. All members are eligible to vote for all Executive Board positions.

Accepting Nomination

To accept nomination for one of the above positions, you must send your acceptance in writing to the Election Committee at:

Acceptances must be received by mail or email no later than November 11 at 5:00 pm PST. The written statement of acceptance should state how the nominee wishes their name to appear on the ballot and the region in which they are accepting the nomination, if applicable.

Candidate Statements

Members accepting nomination may also submit a candidate statement (up to 500 words) to the Election Committee that must be received by the nomination deadline of November 11 at 5:00 pm PST. Candidates may also submit a photo, which must have a square aspect ratio and be at least 200×200 pixels in resolution. In the case of contested positions, statements will be posted on the Local Union website no later than November 12.
