ELECTION NOTICE

All UAW Local 4121 members in good standing for at least one (1) year prior to accepting nomination are automatically nominated to complete the term for the following Executive Board office whose three-year term expires in June 2013:

  • Financial Secretary
  • Sergeant at Arms
  • One (1) Trustee

All UAW Local 4121 members in good standing continuously for ninety (90) days prior to accepting nomination are automatically nominated for the following steward positions whose terms expire in December 2014:

  • Region 1:  Eight positions
  • Region 2:  Eight positions
  • Region 3:  Eight positions
  • Region 4:  Eight positions
  • Region 5:  Eight positions

ACCEPTING NOMINATION

To accept nomination for any one specified position, you must send your acceptance in writing to the Elections Committee at:

Acceptances must be received by mail or email no later than Monday, November 19, 2012 at 5:00 pm. The written statement of acceptance should state how the nominee wishes his or her name to appear on the ballot and for those accepting nomination for steward positions, the region in which they are accepting the nomination.

CANDIDATE STATEMENTS

Members accepting nomination may also submit a candidate statement (up to 500 words) that must be received by the nomination deadline of Monday, November 19, 2012 at 5:00 pm to the above address. In the case of contested positions, statements will be posted on the Local Union website no later than Monday, November 26, 2012.

ELECTION DATES

The election will take place on Monday, December 3, 2012. The polling places will be: Red Square (north side in front of Kane Hall), 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and the UW Physics-Astronomy Building Courtyard, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

A run-off election, if necessary, will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 9:00 am – 1:00pm in Red Square (north side in front of Kane Hall),
