Take 10 minutes now to communicate your bargaining priorities and fill out the bargaining survey today! And ask Postdocs you know to fill out their Bargaining Survey!
Add your name in support of a DACA-mented ASE who was terminated from their Teaching Assistant position without a comprehensive support plan last week. Follow this link to read more about what is happening, then add your name in support of your fellow union member!
Sign on to this letter and build our union power to win these five demands:
- Establish a legal fund to assist with immigration legal challenges.
- Require Know Your Rights trainings university-wide.
- Defend free speech.
- Maintain employment and student status for anyone detained.
- Do not collaborate with ICE.
On Saturday, 1/31, join community and other union members at a collective declaration that ICE is not welcome in Seattle! The rally begins at 12pm at Pine and Broadway, and here are some safety resources to review ahead of time.
ASEs and all UW students need to vote NO on the new $125 quarterly fee, which can add up to $500 a year, in addition to existing student fees. Our university needs to be exploring alternative funding to make higher ed accessible to more people, not less.
Solidarity Actions
- Labor and community organizers are calling for a nationwide shutdown tomorrow, January 30. Workers who are able to be flexible with their working hours to participate in actions around the Seattle area, including 12pm at University of Washington, in solidarity with our fellow workers in Minnesota and across the country.
Stop. Funding. ICE.
