Dear Colleague,
This coming Tuesday, May 28th, we are hosting a Postdoc union general meeting at 4pm in HSB T-625, concluding no later than 5pm. RSVP now. We will discuss the next steps with or without an agreement, and the final actions we must take to finish the contract. Our next and currently last scheduled bargaining session is Wednesday, May 29th.
During our May 8th city council work session, we had an incredible turnout, with hundreds of Postdocs and community members in attendance. This meeting resulted in major bargaining progress, including agreement on groundbreaking non-discrimination protections, however we are still without settlement on wages and healthcare for all Postdocs.
This meeting on May 28th is critical. We always welcome and encourage all Postdocs to attend union events, and your attendance next Tuesday is more important than ever. To ensure better pay and guaranteed benefits for each other and future UW Postdocs, attending next Tuesday is our opportunity. If you want a voice in how to proceed in reaching agreement with UW Admin by the end of May, attend this forum.
RSVP here. We are meeting in HSB T-625 (two floors above Overpass-Espresso Cafe) at 4pm on Tuesday, May 28th.
In solidarity,
The UW Postdocs United / UAW 4121 Bargaining Committee
