It’s time for Postdocs across UW to get ready to negotiate a new contract!
The current Postdoc contract with UW expires August 31st, 2026, so Postdocs are coming together from across departments to collectively form our bargaining demands for a new contract. We’ll be bargaining alongside Research Staff at UW, allowing us to work together and build even more power to win the best contracts possible–and to continue transforming scientific research for the better.
In these uncertain and volatile times, it’s more critical than ever for workers to unite and build power to advocate for protections and improvements. Previous rounds of bargaining have been powerful tools for improving our working conditions to ensure we can live and research in dignity.
Your participation is essential. Take two important steps to participate in this power-building and democratic process:
- Take 10 minutes now to communicate your bargaining priorities
- Sign up as a dues-paying member of your union TODAY. Without strong union membership, Postdocs won’t have the power to win what we need.
Also take a minute to follow UAW 4121 on Instagram to hear from UW Postdocs about the critical work they do and how it benefits society–and the importance of winning a fair and strong contract!
In Solidarity,
Postdoc Bargaining Team
