General meeting Wed Sept 25
The next UAW 4121 general membership meeting will be Wed Sept 25th from 4-5pm in Life Sciences Building (LSB) room 201. We will discuss the implementation of our hard-won pay increases and the next steps ahead, including anticipated changes to the NIH Postdoc payscale. Children are welcome at the meeting, and we are happy to provide childcare from a licensed provider in a nearby location during the meeting. Please contact us by 5pm on Sept 24 if you wish to secure childcare.
Have you signed up for membership yet? Join your fellow Postdoc members as we gain momentum for our next bargaining sessions. You can ask questions about membership and pick up or drop off a membership form with one of your Postdoc colleagues (look for the UAW 4121 sign):

Youth-led Strike for Climate Justice: Fri Sept 20
Over the past year, the global youth-led movement for climate justice has changed the national conversation about the climate crisis, demanding that politicians reject fossil fuel campaign contributions and support a bold and equitable transition to clean energy. Join us! Climate Justice Fest: Cal Anderson Park, 9am – noon; March to City Hall: Noon – 1pm; Rally outside City Hall: 1pm.

Postdoc Parents Meeting @ SLU: Tues Sept 24
Save the date: On Tuesday, Sept 24 from 12-1 PM at the South Lake Union campus (Brotman Building, D237) the Postdoc Parents working group will have our second meeting to discuss ideas for implementing the first-ever childcare subsidies for Postdocs we won in our contract, and other ways we can build a more family-friendly university through our union. If you are interested, come to the meeting and/or email pdparenting@uaw4121.org to get involved.
