Sign the nationwide petition to defend tuition waivers!

Negotiations in Congress continue over the GOP Tax Bill, which contains numerous regressive and unjust provisions to reduce taxes for the wealthy by taxing grad tuition, repealing key sections of the Affordable Care Act, eliminating the deduction for student loan interest, increasing costs for teachers to buy school supplies, slashing incentives for renewable energy, and more.

The House version of the bill is now being reconciled with the Senate version, and a revised version could be voted on as early as next week.  The House version did contain the tax on Tuition Waivers for graduate students, while the Senate version did not.  While details of these details are not being made publicly available, UAW advocates in Washington DC are working with allies in labor and community organizations to push key Republicans in Congress to drop these extraordinarily harmful provisions.
