Why is there an election?

This election is to fill vacant steward positions in Regions 1 and 3.

 

How do I vote online?

You should have received a postcard in early May with a scratch-off access code for your online ballot. The online voting system will open at 12:01 am PDT on May 24 and close at 5:00 pm PDT on May 26. Follow the voting instructions to cast your ballot.

 

I never received or lost my postcard. How can I access my online ballot?

If you did not get a postcard, follow the steps for Self-Authorization in the voting instructions.

 

Can I vote in person?

Yes. A polling station will be open at the following times and locations:

 

May 24th: 10am – 1pm: Drumheller Fountain

    2pm – 5pm: Outside the HSC Rotunda on Pacific St

May 25th: 10am – 1pm: Outside Schmitz Hall on 15th Ave

    2pm – 5pm: The Quad between Raitt and Miller Halls

May 26th: 10am – 1pm: Outside More Hall on E Stevens Way

    2pm – 5pm: Drumheller Fountain

 

Why can only members in Regions 1 and 3 vote in this election?

As per the UAW 4121 bylaws, members are only eligible to vote for stewards in a region where they currently enrolled or employed. A list of departments in Regions 1 and 3 is available at the end of the voting instructions.

I am not currently a union member. Can I join and vote?

Yes. Membership forms will be available at the polling stations. This is the quickest way to join and vote. Alternatively, you can print a membership form online. You will need to fill out, sign, scan, and email it to uaw4121@uaw4121.org. Make sure to CC the Election Committee (elections@uaw4121.org) so that they can send you instructions for getting your access code.
